The striking mountains that surround the village are remarkable about Mellau: the Hang- and Mörzelspitze to the west, the Gopfberg to the north, the Damülser Mittagsspitze (2095 meters) to the south and the Kanisfluh – the landmark of the Bregenzerwald at a proud 2,044 meters – to the southeast.
