The toboggan run is 800m long and is floodlit on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, snow permitting. Tobogganing fun for the whole family.
Cross-country skiers get their money’s worth in Mellau and those who have the choice are spoiled for choice. If you are looking for peace and quiet, the trail through the beautiful Enge Vorsäß at the foot of the Kanisfluh is a good choice. The route through the village is certainly a little busier. With the Mellaubahn lift right on the doorstep, pure skiing pleasure is guaranteed. It leads from the valley up to the Roßstelle and offers easy access to the Damüls-Mellau ski area.
With 109 kilometers of pistes and 27 lifts and cable cars, Damüls-Mellau is the largest ski area in the Bregenzerwald. The combination of sunny pistes and north-facing slopes guarantees ideal snow conditions at all times.
The Mellaubahn takes you comfortably up to the mountain, the Roßstelle (1400 m). Everything is possible from here. If you like to get out and about on two wheels, you can even transport your bike on the cable car. With the Bregenzerwald Guest Card, you can ride the Mellaubahn free of charge in summer.
There is also something for every taste for mountain bikers in Mellau. If you like to enjoy the view, choose the beautiful cycle path through the Enge Vorsäß. This is pure idyll. The cycle path leads all the way to Schoppernau. Mellau also offers its guests an attractive range of guided e-bike tours.
In addition to alpine winter sports, cross-country skiers can also enjoy a fantastic offer in Damüls Faschina. Two trails with a total of eleven sunny kilometers are groomed daily and are located at snow-sure altitudes of 1,500 and 1,700 meters.
The outdoor pool in Mellau is idyllically situated on the Mellenbach stream and is surrounded by beautiful meadows and trees. It is the ideal place to cool off after an active day.

At the Uga-Express valley station, you’ll find ample parking as the starting and ending point for your mountain hike in Damüls. After a comfortable ride on the convenient chairlift, you’ll be in close proximity to the Damülser Mittagspitze (2,095 m), which you can ascend in a short time.
The snow-sure ski area Damüls-Mellau, together with the Faschina ski area, forms the largest ski resort in the Bregenzerwald and one of the largest ski areas in Vorarlberg. In the snow-sure Damüls Faschina, you can stay in hotels right by the slopes! That’s pure skiing enjoyment!
